Bar Italia Announce New Album ‘Some Like It Hot Out’
London trio return with new album, lead single ‘Fundraiser’ and an international tour.
London trio Bar Italia have announced details of their new album Some Like It Hot, set for release on October 17 via Matador Records. The record follows 2023’s critically acclaimed Tracey Denim and The Twits, and marks the band’s third full-length on the label in just over a year.
The announcement arrives alongside a brand new single, ‘Fundraiser’, an urgent, hook-heavy track accompanied by a video featuring actor Matt King (best known as Super Hans in Peep Show).
The group – Nina Cristante, Jezmi Tarik Fehmi and Sam Fenton – have spent the past two years cementing their reputation as one of the UK’s most exciting live bands, playing more than 160 shows worldwide including Glastonbury, Coachella and sold-out runs in New York, Los Angeles and London. With Some Like It Hot, the band expand their sound further, weaving together jagged rock, spectral folk, experimental ballads and widescreen pop.
The album takes its name from the 1959 Hollywood classic, and like the film, balances humour, intensity and a flair for the dramatic. Songs such as ‘Cowbella’ (already a BBC 6 Music playlist fixture), ‘Marble Arch’ and ‘Lioness’ showcase the band’s ability to move between tenderness and ferocity, intimacy and swagger.
Bar Italia will celebrate the release with a sold-out London show at The Dome on October 18, before embarking on an extensive run of UK, European and North American tour dates.
