PUP Release Twisty New Single ‘Is This It’

Pop-punk legacy band PUP expound upon their recent activity with ‘Is This It’ and a stop-motion animation music video for ‘Concrete’ as they move through their multicontinental tour.

Toronto quartet unleashes single ‘Is This It’ via Rise Records, with Canada-specific label support from Little Dipper. Alongside a visualizer for the track, PUP has released a stop-motion music video for ‘Concrete’ directed by Sterling Larose. “At this point, we’re in an incredibly lucky position with PUP to mostly do whatever we want with this band, and for us, it was completely worth the wait. The video was made with no AI - just immense care, patience, and endless frustration on the part of the artists”, frontperson Stefan Babcock shared in a statement on ‘Concrete’.

‘If this is it/What’s the point of anything?’, ‘Is This It’ demands of itself; in classic PUP style, there’s an overwhelming sense that each individual member is tussling with themselves despite having made their mind up long ago about the answer. The otherwise desaturated spectral gradient, upstroked guitars, and figure-eight vocals are, similarly to the endless existential reckonings made in vain, closely reminiscent of the PUP that first donated its verve to the emboldened pop punk movement.

In promotion of the mid-2025 album, ‘Who Will Look After the Dogs?’, the band has embarked upon a tour of Canada, the United Kingdom, mainland Europe, and the United States: significant dates include performances in London on June 28th and July 4th, 2000trees festival on July 8th, and Chicago’s Riot Fest on September 18th and 19th.

They will also be playing at the Observatory Festival Grounds in Santa Ana, California with other punk heavyweights such as Thursday, La Dispute, the Prize Fighter Inferno, Covet, and more on October 4th. From October 19th to October 29th, PUP will play six shows in the south of the United States alongside NOBRO and PONY.

‘Is This It’ is available to stream now via Rise Records.
