Beabadoobee Shares New Single ‘Memories’ From Forthcoming Album ‘Pylon’

Beabadoobee previews her forthcoming fourth album Pylon with new single ‘Memories’ ahead of her biggest headline tour to date.

Beabadoobee has shared new single ‘Memories’, the latest preview of her forthcoming fourth album Pylon, arriving on September 18th via Dirty Hit / Interscope Records.

Following previous singles ‘Sun Has Set’ and ‘Switchblade’, ‘Memories’ finds Bea Laus looking back at moments that initially bring comfort, only for nostalgia to take a more bittersweet turn.

Beabadoobee describes it as “one of the happiest songs on the album”, despite its fixation on memories that can no longer be revisited. She explains that the track sees her “clinging onto ideas that should make me happy but actually make me feel sad, because I wish they were just moments I lived in forever.”

The single offers another glimpse into Pylon, the follow-up to 2024’s UK number one album This Is How Tomorrow Moves. Written largely alone in hotel rooms, the new record saw Laus return to the solitary songwriting process that shaped her earliest material.

Speaking about the process, she says writing in those surroundings reminded her of being 17 and working on songs alone in her bedroom. Across its 14 tracks, Pylon moves through love, loneliness, anger and euphoria, with Laus embracing a heavier rock sound along the way.

‘Memories’ has already made its way onto the stage, receiving its live debut during Beabadoobee’s recent run of US dates. The shows included appearances at Lollapalooza and Hinterland, alongside a headline performance at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

Ahead of the album’s arrival, Beabadoobee will also play two intimate London release shows. She heads to Circuit in Kingston on September 15th for an outstore show with Banquet Records, before performing at Hackney Church with Rough Trade on September 18th, the day Pylon is released.

The smaller dates come shortly before Beabadoobee embarks on the biggest headline tour of her career. The Powerlines Tour begins in North America on October 1st and includes her first run of arena shows, with dates at Madison Square Garden and Los Angeles’ Kia Forum.

The tour reaches the UK in November, with shows at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro, Cardiff’s Utilita Arena and Manchester’s AO Arena before a headline date at London’s O2 Arena on November 18th. European dates follow through late November and early December.

Pylon will feature 14 tracks in total, including the previously released ‘Sun Has Set’ and ‘Switchblade’. The album follows a period of continued growth for Beabadoobee, whose last record became her first UK number one in 2024.

Earlier this year, she also teamed up with The Marías for standalone collaborative single ‘All I Did Was Dream Of You’.

Pylon is out September 18th via Dirty Hit / Interscope Records.
