Middlesborough sextet Provenance release their irresistible new single ‘Save it for the Weekend’, produced by Jamie McIntyre (The Covasettes) and Sugar House, the track matches up indie-pop lyrics and hooks with a new wave inspired synth that allows for a unique fusion of catchy choruses, heartfelt lyricism and soaring melodies. The band are built for the live stage – drawing influence from inhaler and Circa Waves, their sound mixes in the new wave synth that makes them feel new, exciting and different, paying homage to New Order. Frontman Theo Formby-Jackson explains: “Save It is an undeniably catchy indie tune, driven by its anthemic synths inspired by the likes of New Order and its honest lyricisms that tells the story of an immature relationship”, and it marks another confident statement from the band who have established themselves as regulars on the Northern gig circuit, with tour dates at Lions Den, Hyde Park Book Club and the Deaf Institute in Manchester and Leeds.
The band has earned support from BBC Introducing, Radio X’s John Kennedy and Hunger magazine, with support slots supporting Corella and appearances at Twisterella and Redcar Beach live, they are a band that is rapidly crafting themselves out as a must-see. The six piece consisting of Theo Formby-Jackson (Lead Vocals/Guitar), Joe Bradford (Lead Guitar/Vocals), Jack Obern (Drums), Harry Blythe (Bass), Myles Nivot (Keys/Vocals) and Jasmine Pinder (Vocals) have continued to build an impressive reputation through relentless gigging.
