Oral Habit Announce Fuzz-Drenched New Single ‘Heimlich Remover’

The Brighton trio follow their debut album with a heavier new track, out on 6 November alongside a limited run of 7-inch vinyl.

Oral Habit have announced ‘Heimlich Remover’, a new single arriving this Friday, 6 November. Following their debut album A Broken Chord, released in June, the track sees the Brighton psych-garage trio push towards a heavier sound, drawing on desert rock while retaining the fuzz of their earlier material. A limited edition 7-inch pressing will also be available through the band’s Bandcamp.

Built around a single, insistent chord, ‘Heimlich Remover’ finds the band turning up the distortion. Singer and guitarist Charlie Hales offers a suitably ominous description: ‘It’s one chord chugging toward you, slowly but surely gaining until it’s too late, your face becomes one with the tarmac. Enjoy the smatterings of fuzz, but don’t choke on it.’

Hales is joined in Oral Habit by his brother Felix on drums and bassist Tippi Lewis. Following UK touring around their debut, the trio have announced headline shows at Brighton’s Alphabet on 23 January and London’s Shacklewell Arms on 29 January.
