How excited are you to release Sometimes I Forget Your Human Too? What’s it been like working with Clue Records?

I am quite a lot excited to be honest! it feels good to have a whole thing that you’ve made in your hands it's like my first child haha and pretty pleased with how it’s turned out so excited for the world to hear it! It's been a dream working with Clue, Scott is such a sound guy and just a genuinely decent human who I'm chuffed to be working with. We get on super well and think we have similar humor which helps! So it's been great.

We absolutely love everything we’ve heard from it so far, particularly the future smash- hit-of-the-summer ‘Skin’ - do you have a favourite track from Sometimes I Forget Your Human Too?

Haha I love that, cheers very much, appreciated! I think it depends, I like SIFYHT because of the lyrics and the meaning but then I also really like showers because it's kind of like a conscious flow of thoughts.

What are the main ideas and feelings you want to get across with the EP?

Existence, nostalgia, living in a flawed society, vulnerability and disconnection between yourself and your emotions.

The artwork is great! Who designed it? How do you feel it reflects the music on the EP?

My mate Josie designed it, she’s great! I think it's perfect as it represents two humans in their most vulnerable state, stripped down and raw which I think is beautiful and it goes with the whole concept and idea behind ‘Sometimes I Forget You’re Human Too’.

In five words, how would you describe your music to an alien?

‘This will blow your mind’ (purely just assuming they’ve never heard any music before).

What first got you into music?

I think probably going to little festivals when I was younger and being played loads of different types of music, it must've just got into my system! Haha. The reason I wanted to get a guitar was because I wanted to play like Ben Howard so that's the first stuff I started playing.

Can you remember the first song you ever wrote? What was it like?

It was made on my phone using GarageBand and I think it was called ‘pray’ listening back it’s absolutely awful but also kind of nice because it was right at the start when I'd just started messaging about with composition.

Which artists would you say have influenced you the most?

Probably Wolf Alice and Ben Howard.

Which three artists (alive or dead) would headline your dream festival?

Supertramp, Ben Howard and Cocteau Twins.

If you could write a song for any other artist who would it be and why?

Maybe Charli XCX just cos she's cool and think it’d be fun.

Which famous song do you wish you’d written and why?

Maybe bags by Clairo just because it’s super simple but also super good and can relate to it quite a bit.

Do you have any venues you are particularly keen to play one day?

Red Rocks would be insane.

You were recently the cover star of Spotify’s ‘Hot New Bands’ playlist (congrats!) - What would be the dream playlist for you to be the cover star of in the future?

Maybe something like ‘songs to listen to whilst you eat hummus’ that would be pretty amazing.

What’s the most bored you’ve ever been at your Grandma’s house?

I’d say a solid 8 on the bored scale.

What were your favourite tracks or albums from 2020?

I really liked 925 by Sorry, Every Bad by Porridge Radio and The Menace Of Mechanical Music by Team Picture.

Do you have any final life lessons or tips for our readers?

Hmmm do what YOU want to do, listen to your intuition and have funnn!
