Daisy George Releases Title Track ‘see me now’ From Her Forthcoming Debut EP
London’s Daisy George shares her new single ‘see me now’ from her upcoming debut EP of the same name out on November 25th on Brace Yourself Records.
Having honed her skills as a touring bassist for artists such as Poppy Ajudha, Tom Ford, Amaarae, Mark Owen, and Jas Kayser, Daisy is now taking centre stage with her debut EP, which serves as both an introduction and a declaration of intent for a musician who channels influences from jazz, 90s hip-hop, rock-pop, and soul through a unique and steadfastly DIY lens.
‘see me now’ sees Daisy showcasing her vocal prowess for the first time, signalling a new phase in her development as an artist. The track is a tour de force in catharsis, like a long, necessary breath out. Daisy George is demonstrating newfound abilities with her new release, which combines her voice—an instrument as potent as any other—with exploding percussion, glittering analogue synths, and groove-led bass jams.
Talking about the song, she said: "My aim was to lean on sounds that brought me a sense of nostalgia, bringing together influences from The Cranberries and MGMT to create a song that feels familiar, as if it could’ve been playing on the radio when I was a child.” You can watch the video below!
Her previous single 'do you feel?' garnered support across the music press —receiving a debut spin on Jamz Supernova's show on BBC 1Xtra, and has since earned further praise from the likes of Jamie Cullum on BBC Radio 2 and Jess Iszatt on BBC Introducing London.
Daisy George’s debut EP, see me now, is available Nov 25th from Brace Yourself Records.
