Geese Announce Third Album ‘Getting Killed’

Geese usher in their next era with lead single ‘Taxes’, a twisted anthem of chaos, melody and existential dread.

New York City rockers Geese have announced their hotly anticipated third studio album Getting Killed, out 26 September via Partisan Records. Alongside the announcement, the band have released the lead single ‘Taxes’, a chaotic and melodic swirl of sound that sets the tone for this bold new chapter. The single arrives with a suitably off-kilter video, and follows news of their expansive Getting Killed tour - now with a second Brooklyn Paramount date added due to overwhelming demand.

After the post-punk unpredictability of their 2021 debut Projector and the genre-bending swagger of 2023’s 3D Country, Geese return with a record that pulls apart everything that came before. Recorded with producer Kenneth Blume over a month in Los Angeles, Getting Killed is described as a “chaotic comedy of epic proportions,” weaving moments of tenderness with unrelenting rage, and flaunting the band’s disregard for traditional structure. Frontman Cameron Winter’s theatrical delivery leads the charge, his voice aching and soaring over tracks that dart between styles with giddy confidence.

The release of ‘Taxes’ offers a glimpse into the band’s shapeshifting new direction. It’s a nervy, and oddly catchy cut that showcases Winter at his most unhinged, backed by the band’s tightest and most adventurous playing to date.

To support the album, Geese will embark on their biggest headline tour yet, criss-crossing North America this autumn. Kicking off in South Burlington, Vermont on 10 October, the tour includes multiple sold-out shows, a string of new dates, and a now two-night hometown finale at Brooklyn Paramount on 20 and 21 November.
