Norwegian singer-songwriter Juni Habel is set to release her third album Evergreen In Your Mind on 10 April through Basin Rock. Following the breakthrough success of 2023’s Carvings, this new record offers a delicate blend of winter forest folk inspired by rural Norway.

Recorded with co-producer Stian Skaaden, the album features eleven new tracks shaped with patience and playfulness, incorporating natural percussion from the physical world around Habel. The songs explore themes of connection, stillness, and passion, reflecting a dreamlike space where the artist seeks oneness with the world.

The title track and lead single is a gentle folk song that captures Habel hiding away in the woods, caught between nature and modern life. She describes it as nostalgic and about visualising something beautiful to cling onto. A video for the single is available to watch on YouTube.

The album cover features a striking photograph of Juni among the mountains of Rondane, a remote location reached after a five-hour drive from her home. The epic landscape complements the music’s quiet yet powerful nature.

Fans of Vashti Bunyan, early Julie Byrne, Myriam Gendron and Haley Heynderickx will find much to enjoy in Habel’s latest work. The Times praised her music as the equivalent of an evening spent alone by the fireside, appealing to admirers of Nick Drake, Karen Dalton and Neil Young.
