Kyoto Kyoto Share Whirlwind New Single ‘Trier’

Ferocious Kyoto Kyoto are solidifying their status as one of the most important underground acts right now.

Their new song ‘Trier’ is a rapidly morphing tapestry in and of itself. It was recorded in Glasgow during what the band recalls as a "intense" recording session with producer Chris McCrory (Catholic Action). Sonically, "Trier" is a synthesis of several parts made over a lengthy writing period. One part, which was first developed four years ago in Germany during a jam session with Can’s Damo Suzuki, collapses from frantic industrial rock into twisting math-inspired guitar riffs. With its relentless blasts of noise, prayers, and breakcore pounding, "Trier" embodies the Kyoto Kyoto credo of giving their craft their all.

‘Trier’ is a part of an autumnal triple header that also includes an appearance by Kyoto Kyoto at the Left of the Dial showcase in Rotterdam and a release party with Moreish Idols and Rosie Alena at the Old Blue Last on November 5. At the centre of the buzz is the band's live fanbase, which has helped draw attention from influential tastemakers like 6 Music, Fred Perry, and BBC Introducing to Kyoto Kyoto. They performed on the same bill in 2022 as pioneers Opus Kink, Waterbaby, Butch Kassidy, and DEADLETTER, in addition to supporting Tricot at a sold-out Islington Garage show on their sold-out European tour.

You can get tickets for their show at Old Blue Last at the link here.
