Silver Gore Find Strength In The Strange On New Single ‘Peculiar’
Silver Gore have returned with euphoric new single 'Peculiar', the latest release from the duo of Ava Gore and Ethan P. Flynn via Island Records.
Following on from the electronic-pop punch of previous single 'Black Cherry Liqueur', 'Peculiar' takes a different approach, pairing acoustic guitar with soaring synth arrangements as it traces the aftermath of a relationship breakdown. While the song reflects on jealousy and heartbreak, it ultimately arrives at a place of self-discovery and resilience.
Speaking about the track, Ava Gore explained: "Feelings of jealousy and sadness are overcome by discovery of personal resilience. This is an anthem of empowerment from heartbreak to strength while still getting used to the peculiar feeling of self-realisation."
The release arrives shortly after Silver Gore performed at the final weekend of Lost Club Night, the artist-led project that has occupied the former Odeon cinema on London's Shaftesbury Avenue since autumn 2025.
Since emerging with their debut EP Dogs In Heaven last year, Silver Gore have developed a reputation for music that refuses to sit comfortably within one genre. Drawing from alternative pop, experimental rock and folk-inspired sounds, the project is built around spontaneity, with songs often taking shape in a single session.
The duo's origins stretch back to 2018, when Gore and Flynn first met. Flynn has since become known for his work with artists including FKA twigs, Nia Archives and David Byrne, while Gore joined his live band in 2021 before the pair launched Silver Gore together.
Their debut EP Dogs In Heaven showcased the breadth of their songwriting, moving between off-kilter pop hooks and more experimental territory. The release helped establish the pair as one of the UK's most intriguing new acts and led to support slots with Water From Your Eyes, alongside appearances at festivals including The Great Escape, Green Man Festival and End of the Road Festival.
Silver Gore are set to continue unveiling new music throughout the summer, alongside appearances at festivals across the UK and Europe, including Truck Festival, Wilderness Festival, Haldern Pop Festival, End of the Road Festival and Manchester Psych Fest.
