Spotlight On Québec Spring 2025

New Music from Montreal and Beyond | April 14 – May 25 | Across the UK.

Every spring, something electric crosses the Atlantic. Under the banner of Québec Spring, a new generation of trailblazing artists from the vibrant province of Québec arrives in the UK - bringing fresh sounds, bold ideas, and the kind of musical energy that’s helped Montréal earn its reputation as one of the most exciting creative cities in the world.

From April 14 to May 25, Québec Spring 2025 will spotlight a wide-ranging lineup of artists at major festivals like FOCUS Wales and The Great Escape, as well as in legendary venues and local venues across the UK. Whether you're into dreamy pop melodies, soul-drenched vocals, searing punk energy, or abstract noise experimentation, there’s something here that will catch your ear - and keep it.

Québec’s musical output is as rich and varied as its landscape. It's the province that gave us Leonard Cohen, Céline Dion, Oscar Peterson, and Godspeed You! Black Emperor - and the one that’s nurtured the rise of contemporary stars like Kaytranada, Mac DeMarco, and Charlotte Cardin. That lineage continues with this year’s Québec Spring cohort, who are ready to win over new fans and industry tastemakers alike.

At the heart of Québec Spring is discovery. Presented by M for Montreal, a respected force in artist development and export, this showcase connects artists with global audiences and industry networks, all with the support of the Québec Government Office in London, SODEC, and Conseil des Arts et des Lettres du Québec (CALQ).

This year’s bill includes:

  • Ballsy, the dreampop-meets-indie rocker shaking up the Montreal scene

  • Alix Fernz, whose labyrinthine post-punk blends synthwave, hypnagogic pop, and raw-edge vocals

  • Sorry Girls, masters of shimmering, emotion-filled pop

  • Malika Tirolien & Clauder Nash GEMINICRAB, whose project fuses high-soul vocals with millennial-coded production

  • Geneviève Racette, the folk-pop singer-songwriter known for her warm voice and moving storytelling

  • zouz, a thunderous power trio channeling noise rock intensity and unrelenting live energy

  • Truck Violence, mixing hardcore, folk, and chaos into something startlingly new

  • Patche, weaving techno rhythms with krautrock textures and avant-garde composition

  • The Franklin Electric, a longtime crowd favourite delivering heartfelt indie-folk with cinematic sweep

  • Bibi Club, the French-language art-pop duo soundtracking life’s quiet and joyous moments

Québec Spring will be everywhere from Bristol to Brighton, Glasgow to Manchester, London to Leeds. Notably, a special London showcase on May 12th at Old Blue Last celebrates 20 years of M for Montreal with performances from Ballsy and Alix Fernz. Other major moments include showcases at FOCUS Wales (May 8–11) and The Great Escape (May 15–17), where you can catch multiple artists in one place, and maybe stumble across your new favourite act.

Québec Spring 2025 is bringing some of the most exciting new voices from Montréal and beyond to stages across the UK. And if you’re planning your festival calendar, make space - because this spring, Québec is coming to you.
