The Tubs Release New Single/Video, ‘Wretched Lie’ From Upcoming Debut

Debut album, Dead Meat , due 27th January on Trouble in Mind.

London-based Welsh band, The Tubs were formed by "O" and George "GN" Nicholls, the main writers for the noise-pop band Joanna Gruesome. They are also one-fourth of the "evil" Sniffany & The Nits and the significantly less evil Ex-Vod. Although the bands' musical styles differ, The Tubs' jangle is masked by a similar derangement.

‘Wretched Lie’ is “about meeting yourself in a mysterious setting and telling yourself a lie,” says Williams. The accompanying video, doused in a dark red wash, was directed and animated by Tasha Lizak, highlighting the song’s more gothic and sombre tone — the darkly romantic guitar lines and crooning vocals tipping a hat to the dark romance of bands like The Cure and the Smiths.
