Beach House Share Cover Of Robert Lester Folsom’s ‘April Suzanne’

Beach House mark 50 years of Folsom’s Music and Dreams with a cover, arriving ahead of an expanded anniversary reissue in October.

Beach House have released their version of Robert Lester Folsom’s ‘April Suzanne’, recorded to celebrate the 50th anniversary of his 1976 album Music and Dreams. The cover is available now, with a seven-inch release following on 16 October through Anthology Recordings. Limited to 1,000 copies worldwide, the single puts Beach House’s recording on the A-side and a remastered version of Folsom’s original on the reverse.

The release accompanies Music and Dreams: 50th Anniversary Edition, also due on 16 October. Originally self-released by Folsom in 1976, the album gradually found an audience beyond its initial small reach, earning a cult following over the decades. The expanded double LP brings together the remastered album and its original reel-to-reel demos, offering a chance to hear the early recordings behind the songs, alongside Beach House’s separate tribute to ‘April Suzanne’.
