Blondie Announce New Album High Noon and Share ‘Spectral Eyes’
The band’s twelfth studio album arrives in February and features the final recordings of co-founding drummer Clem Burke.
Blondie have announced High Noon, their first studio album since 2017’s Pollinator, alongside its opening track and lead single, ‘Spectral Eyes’. The album will be released on 26 February 2027 through BMG, with contributions from Johnny Marr, Glen Matlock, Beirut’s Zach Condon and Lucius members Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig. Marr wrote ‘Spectral Eyes’ and also plays guitar on the track.
Recording began in New York in 2022 with John Congleton, who previously produced Pollinator, and much of the material was tracked with the band playing together in the same room. David Wrench subsequently joined for additional production and mixing. The sessions also became Blondie’s final recordings with co-founding drummer Clem Burke, who died in 2025. The band did not know at the time that the album would be their last together.
‘This album is classic Blondie, an amalgamation of all our different influences and eras into something new,’ Debbie Harry said. ‘This music feels grounded in the present, shaped by who we are and how we’re living now.’
Chris Stein added: ‘It’s been a long, strange ride, and somehow here we are with another Blondie album. I’m not sure what the fuck I’m supposed to say at this point, except that we’re incredibly grateful for all your support over the years.’
Across its 13 tracks, High Noon includes ‘Heartbreak Kid’, which Stein wrote with Johnny Thunders in mind, Matlock’s ‘Sleepwalking’, and the Stein and Harry composition ‘Man Who Had No Face’. The band also revisit ‘Little Metal Drummer’, originally recorded for co-founding keyboardist Jimmy Destri’s 1981 solo debut, Heart on a Wall. Harry and Burke both appeared on that original recording.
Artist and director Rob Roth has developed the album’s artwork and accompanying visuals with Untold Studios, continuing a creative relationship with Blondie that dates back to 1999’s No Exit. The project will also include an upcoming short film directed by Roth and featuring music from High Noon.
High Noon will be available on black vinyl and CD, with a limited crystal-clear ecovinyl edition at selected retailers. Exclusive red vinyl and cassette editions will be available through Blondie’s official stores. The album is available to pre-order now, and ‘Spectral Eyes’ is out now.
