Dahi Releases Fousheé Collaboration ‘Square Up’ Ahead of Debut Album

Dahi has released ‘Square Up’, a collaboration with Fousheé taken from his forthcoming debut album, Black Boy (Alternative). Due out via ALTER Music on 28 August 2026, the single is accompanied by a new visual.

Describing the track’s sound as “Black Radiohead”, Dahi sets his production and instrumentation against Fousheé’s vocals. He positions ‘Square Up’ as a reflection on Black identity and the freedom to define oneself beyond fixed expectations.

That idea carries into Black Boy (Alternative), which looks back to the music that shaped Dahi when he was young. Hip-hop and R&B sat alongside the alternative and rock influences that captured his imagination, forming a creative identity without regard for the boundaries commonly drawn between them.

The 11-song tracklist brings together an extensive cast of collaborators. Kendrick Lamar and Amber Mark feature on ‘How To Pray’, Childish Gambino appears on ‘Running’, and ‘Who Are You’ opens the album with Vince Staples, Channel Tres and French Anthony. Further contributions come from Moses Sumney, Mez, Obongjayar, Kurtis Wells, Jesse Boykins III, Baby Rose, Ant Clemons, Elmiene and Ravyn Lenae.

Though this is his first album as Dahi, his production catalogue already includes Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Money Trees’ and Drake’s ‘Worst Behavior’. He has also worked with artists including SZA, Travis Scott, Madonna, Mac Miller, Nas, Vampire Weekend, Sampha, Steve Lacy, Pusha T and Vince Staples.

Ahead of the release, Dahi held a public album event at Sister Dreamer in Los Angeles, with performances and appearances from Childish Gambino, Vince Staples, Ravyn Lenae, Channel Tres, Jesse Boykins III and French Anthony. ‘Square Up’ was also named Zane Lowe’s Apple New Music Daily track of the day.
