Fontaines D.C. announce UK & Europe Tour with chalk supporting
On the eve of headline slots at Reading & Leeds, Fontaines D.C announce new UK and Europe Tour Dates that confirms their meteoric rise, bringing Chalk with them
On the eve of their headline performance at Reading this year, ahead of a weekend at Reading & Leeds and Electric Picnic on the billing at Reading as headliners above Charli XCX, Fontaines DC announce an arena level tour that sees a transition from the venues of Alexandra Palace into the lofty halls of the 02 – as they fulfil the objective set out at their tour at the start of ‘Dogrel’ back in 2019; when Grian Chatten ambitiously sings: “My childhood was small / but I’m gonna be big”. Now on album number five, Dopamine Chamber the Irish post-punk trailblazers very much are.
This is a tour in support of that album – the follow-up to 2024 highlight ‘Romance’.
Fontaines DC shirts have become something of a cultural movement among our current cultural lineup to the point where they have almost reached Joy Division Hall of Fame. Their cultural impact is monumental in the current sphere – and Fontaines are very much the current band of the moment, leading a pathway for an entire generation of Irish music.
Fontaines start their tour in Lisbon on October 21, Grian Chatten and co will visit other cities such as Madrid (22), Barcelona (23) before getting to the UK in November and playing a run of dates from Nov 20 through to Nov 27, starting off in Liverpool at the M&S Bank Arena and culminating in a show at the 02 Arena in North Greenwich. Irish fans will have news soon.
They bring talented indie Belfast heroes Chalk on tour with them – rising and carving out a name for themselves, promoting debut album Crystalpunk; that’s as every bit as explosive as Fontaines’ Dopamine Chamber is shaping up to be.
Pre-sale starts 10am BST Tues 01 Sept. General sale 10am BST Thurs 03 Sept.
