Marshall Unveils Final Jimi Hendrix 60th Anniversary Collection

The new collection celebrates 60 years of Hendrix’s relationship with Marshall with limited-edition headphones, a speaker and a handmade amplifier.

Marshall has unveiled the final release in its Jimi Hendrix 60th Anniversary Collection, marking six decades since Hendrix first plugged into one of the company’s amplifiers.

The latest collection features three new anniversary editions: the Major V headphones, Emberton III speaker and JMH Studio amplifier bundle. Each has been redesigned with artwork and detailing inspired by Hendrix’s visual identity, including psychedelic patterns, purple accents and the all-seeing eye motif. The release celebrates a relationship that began in 1966 and would become a defining part of Hendrix’s sound, with the guitarist famously using Marshall amplifiers throughout his career as he pushed the possibilities of the electric guitar into increasingly loud and experimental territory.

“The story of Jimi and Marshall has always been personal to me because I first heard it from my dad, Al Hendrix,” says Janie Hendrix. “Jimi was always searching for a sound that did not yet exist, pushing beyond what anyone thought an electric guitar could do.”

She adds that Marshall gave Hendrix “the power and freedom to turn those bold ideas into a sound the world had never heard before.”

The Hendrix edition of Marshall’s Major V on-ear headphones arrives in black with purple oil-on-water artwork running through the inner headband and ear cups, alongside an all-seeing eye design. The Emberton III receives a similar treatment, with the psychedelic pattern extending across its sleeve and grille. Each silicone sleeve is individually produced using a water-transfer printing process, meaning the pattern varies between speakers.

Completing the collection is the JMH Studio, a handmade amplifier produced at Marshall’s factory in Bletchley. Based on the company’s Studio Vintage amp, the anniversary version features black and purple psychedelic detailing across its fret and control panel, alongside silver beading and all-seeing eye badges.

The launch is accompanied by a new interview with American blues-rock guitarist Ally Venable, filmed at the Granada Theatre in Dallas, in which she discusses the influence Hendrix and Marshall have had on her own playing. Venable has also joined Marshall as an official endorser, with the campaign marking the beginning of an ongoing partnership with the company.

The Major V and Emberton III editions are available to buy from today at marshall.com, priced at £129.99 and £149.99 respectively, and at select retailers from 9th September. The JMH Studio Edition Bundle is available from 9th September via marshall.com, priced at £1,749.99 and at select retailers.
