Kiosk Lose Their ‘Baby Teeth’ ahead of An Adult DVD Support Tour
Kiosk’s latest song, ‘Baby Teeth’ comes out ahead of a support tour with Adult DVD and Formal Sppeedwear.
There have been a lot of great bands to come from Leeds and Kiosk are another one to add to that ranks. The dark-wave tinged ‘Leedstronica’ duo pioneering a movement that has made them the perfect fit for supporting the dance punk of Adult DVD; Kiosk are sure to go down a storm as they tap into the techno electronic scene of their genre. The single itself is spidery, more at home in the dark wave scene, with their road to success paying off, reaching the finals of the Green Man rising competition earning a spot playing at the beloved indie festival for a packed crowd.
This summer has seen them share stages and tours with bed, Machine Girl, SILVERWINGKILLER, Another Country $$$$ and Mermaid Chunky, showing their eclectic taste puts them in very good company. This follows on from their double A-Side ‘Heaven Sent/Sure Shot’ back in February - and have already garnered plays on BBC 6 Music (Steve Lamacq, new Music Fix, Don Letts, Emily Pilbeam’s ‘Track of the Week’) and garnered support from So Young, The Line of Best Fit, Rough Trade, Far Out, Hard of Hearing and more. The trance/dance-wave imagines a propulsive, hypnotic beat that has to be experienced to be believed - you instantly fall under its allure and can’t not escape from it.
Bella explains: “Lyrically, Baby Teeth is about growing up and leaving things behind. When we wrote it I (Bella) was thinking about an old friend who I’m no longer in contact with. We’d also just bought some new equipment and wanted to see how far we could push it.”
