MM'99 shares new electro-pop anthem 'S4M’

Perfect for fans of Another Country $$$, TURNSPIT and Ninjarachi, MM’99’s explosive new electro-pop anthem makes waves as another Windmill star rises

Name an indie London artist, chances are they’ve cut their teeth at the historic Brixton Windmill, a taste-making cornerstone venue of the scene. The latest name to rise from that ranks, London-Poland icon MM’99, owes musically similiar style tastes to that of Ninjarachi, Eartheater and Charli XCX, the kinetic hyperpop explosive sound instantly making waves with this ghostly revenge anthem ‘S4M.’

The ethereal dreampop bedroom artist rises from Poland and London to deliver a firecracker of a live show, that has included opens for NYC’s iconic Swordes at Moth Club over the summer. The recent single ‘Glitter’ has made her a force to be reckoned with, as has debut EP ‘Hex’, her regular live single and live favourite ‘S4M’ being finally released shows her status as a real star, having already been selected to play as part of SXSW London. The ambient and ethereal synths instantly feel eye-catching and her magnetic live performance remains a real draw.

“‘S4M’ is a song about processing trauma and going through the stages of recovery like the stages of grief. It’s definitely my angriest, most aggressive release yet and it required me pushing some boundaries for myself with the crunchy production and more direct, less-drenched-in-reverb vocals. Even though the song is about one of my darkest and saddest experiences, the lyrics firmly reject the the position of a victim, reject the suffering and disallow pain, so there is only space for expression and freedom”
