Explore supernatural sightings on The Family Battenberg’s new single ‘Fuzzy Features’
The Family Battenberg follow the rise in talented Cardiff bands like Casual Smart, and have been excellent live at the Dome supporting Pastel and ROLLA in 2025, putting their stamp on the London music scene. They are a fresh new voice in garage rock, a live act that’s as good as they come.
Lyrically inspired by the mysterious sighting of the so called ‘Mothman’ of West Virginia in the mid 60s, the track explores vocalist/guitarist’s Eliot Jones’ fascination with the supernatural - aliens, ghosts and the like, as he explains:
““I’m obsessed with the cryptids of America, and ‘Fuzzy Features’ is about the Mothman of West Virginia. We wanted to make a happy clappy T-Rex song, and it just proved itself live. We played it since the start of the band, it’s one of the first songs we’d ever recorded. It would be jarring if it wasn’t on the album now. The new version finally does justice for what the song is to us.”
Following on from a brace of single releases already in The Family Battenberg continue to build on airplay on BBC 6Music (Huw Stephens, Emily Pilbeam, New Music Fix, Riley & Coe, Chris Hawkins) and Radio X (John Kennedy’s ‘X-Posure big one’), as well as press backing from CLASH, DORK, NME, Far Out, So Young, The Line of Best Fit, Rough Trade, Still Listening, God Is In The TV, and more.
