Bassvictim Announce New Album Peace + War And Share ‘White Flag’

The duo’s 19-track album arrives on 6 November, with a release-night show at Troxy, where vocalist Maria Manow previously worked.

Bassvictim have announced their new album PEACE + WAR, due on 6 November, and shared its first single, ‘White Flag’. The duo of vocalist and songwriter Maria Manow and producer Ike Clateman will mark the release with a show at London’s Troxy, where Manow previously worked.

The 19-track album follows Forever and the subsequent EP ?, alongside their earlier releases Basspunk and Basspunk 2. On ‘White Flag’, Manow’s subdued opening vocals give way to distorted electronics, with the track drawing on the dancefloor side of the duo’s sound. Across the album, their abrasive production accompanies lyrics that explore vulnerability, with humour and provocation also running through the record.

Bassvictim are currently on their White Flag headline tour of North America, with upcoming stops including Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia and Washington, DC, before two New York appearances on 31 October at Knockdown Center and GUM Studios. They will then return to Europe for a set at Le Trabendo as part of Pitchfork Music Festival Paris on 4 November, followed by the Troxy album release show on 6 November and Dublin’s Opium on 15 November.
