Pushbike Announce Little Bastard EP And Share New Single ‘Pure Hate’
The Exeter trio’s first release for The Bird Records arrives on 9 October, followed by shows in Brighton, London and Manchester.
pushbike have announced Little Bastard EP, a four-track release due on 9 October through The Bird Records, the label run by Black Country, New Road’s Charlie Wayne and Mita De. Alongside the announcement, the band have shared opening track ‘Pure Hate’, accompanied by an exclusive B-side, ‘Captain On The Bridge’. Recorded in Bristol with Jack Ogborne, whose credits include The New Eves and Naima Bock, the EP runs to less than ten minutes.
Made up of vocalists and guitarists George Gravell and Niall Ivie alongside drummer Tom Grogan, pushbike draw on ’90s indie rock, second-wave emo, hardcore and power pop. The trio are part of a wider community of musicians and artists centred around Exeter’s Cavern venue, with members playing in several other bands and contributing to a local DIY culture of zines and creative projects. Their own label, spinning sister, will join The Bird Records in releasing limited cassette and 10-inch vinyl editions of the EP.
The band will mark the release with three October shows, beginning at Brighton’s Alphabet on 13 October before heading to Aces and Eights in London and Kamera in Manchester.
