Radio Free Alice announce debut album ‘What’s In Between’ ahead of Autumn tour

Radio Free Alice announce their debut album ‘What’s In Between’, and tease a UK post-festival tour date that includes a November show at London’s Electric Ballroom

Having already torn up festivals over the summer and recently led a free outdoor popup show in Bermondsey, South London and look set to play at Reading alongside names like SPEED, Slayyter, Jade and Viagra Boys, Radio Free Alice announce a tour date ahead of their debut album ‘What’s In Between’, available 30th October via Atlantic Records. Vocalist Noah Learmonth is relieved to finally be able to announce the album – saying that “we’ve lived with these songs for such a long time and they’ve become such a big part of our lives, so knowing that there’s now a date when they’ll finally exist outside of us feels incredibly cathartic.”

‘Crying With You’ was written whilst the band were on a writing retreat in Joshua Tree in California, “staying at this beautiful property owned by producer Nicolas Vernhes, surrounded by desert and Joshua trees for about a week and recorded a handful of demos and jams. The verse and chorus were originally different songs, but we stitched them together, which is something we like to do quite a lot”.

The band moved to Melbourne from Sydney at 18 to pursue music full time and soon selling out residencies and inciting queues around the block - you only need look at their South London popup show to see that it was busy more than an hour in advance; despite announcements kept hidden until the last minute: the demand is very much there; over 500 people turned up on August 19 for a memorable show with less than six hours notice to catch their sundown performance, that was every bit as explosive as they have been in the past. It’s good to hear that ‘What’s In Between’ more than justifies the hype - delivering what’s been described as “well-observed, combustive earworms to an increasingly fervent, increasingly global fanbase” having been selected to play as part of Rock Werchter’s tastemaking Nest stage over the summer - explosive and propulsive a set as they come, following in the footsteps of bands like Gurriers, Fat Dog and Lambrini Girls that have since gone on to headline major venues.

‘Crying With You’ follows ‘Kick in the Shins’, a frenzied stumble through life that is no two day the same. Learmoth’s quick-witted storytelling captures whole worlds and leads sharp uppercuts that have earned the band already slots at Governor’s Ball and supporting The Killers in the past.
