The Sick Man of Europe Share new single ‘chromophobia’ and announce a new uk tour

The Sick Man of Europe kick off a winter UK tour ahead of album number two The Intermittent Signal’ via the Leaf Label; sharing second single ‘Chromophobia’ and announcing dates that include headline shows at The Hope & Ruin and The Shacklewell Arms.

The Sick Man of Europe’s second album promotion continues in full effect with second single ‘Chromophobia’, that tackles the fear of the digital age that we exist in. Steady hands have slipped from the levers of power; and chaos reigns – this is the Sick Man grappling with the fact that logic has moved underground, away from the domineering spread of AI and artificial intelligence. Clarity and conviction has rung true among those that still believe and embrace the chaos and there are those that break through the noise – embracing a call to reconnect through community and organisation.

Anyone who has seen The Sick Man of Europe live will know this is an artist that has committed whole-hardheartedly to his craft. There are no half-measures spared; it is as much a performance that exists inside the crowd as it does on the stage – his rapid cult following growing from playing festivals like Rotterdam’s Left of the Dial and Mutations in Brighton in 2025 on a lengthy festival circuit showcase the commitment to an unrelenting touring schedule that has won himself a loyal following. Album number two follows a similar trajectory to industrial Irish post-punk outfit Gurriers – a direct rallying against the overwhelming bleakness of despair with an an entrancement of the pop sensibilities of Depeche Mode, melodies surfing just at the words start to fracture.

It is a cry for melodies to surface, protagonists to bleed through every bar and meaning is unable to be parsed from the deluge. TSMOE argues that; "Chromophobia is the fear of colour - the fear of seeing things as they really are. It can be hard to breathe in this world of relentless falsehoods, but we have to remember we have the collective ability to redefine certain narratives, purely by the language we use. The truth is rarely black and white." All references are intentional, “not the starting point, nor are they there by chance” and the human experience of fear, anxiety and alienation as our identities are erased. This is an album that looks set to reckon with how the world has changed since TSMOE’s debut self-titled album was released, and tackle the change head on.
