UGLY Share ‘Marina’ and Announce Autumn UK Tour

UGLY have shared new single ‘Marina’ and announced a UK tour spanning October and November 2026, with tickets now on sale.

‘Marina’ began appearing in UGLY’s live sets in late 2024, when vocalist Jasmine Miller-Sauchella introduced it as being “for the girls”. Its direction emerged during the band’s second Blue Barn session, with Miller-Sauchella tracing its grit and sexual energy to repeated listens of Pixies’ Surfer Rosa, particularly ‘Gigantic’.

“Every time we sing those lines, I can’t help but smile — and also feel a bit like Kim Deal,” she said of the lyrics.

That sense of character followed the band into Hackney, where they worked on the vocals with producer Balázs Altsach. During the session, a studio viewing of the trailer for Paul Verhoeven’s Showgirls gave them an unexpected visual reference for the song.

On ‘Marina’, UGLY place their interlocking guitars and densely layered harmonies in a rawer, more direct setting. The forthcoming album grew from a highly collaborative process, with much of its material written collectively during retreats at a converted barn looking out towards Ely Cathedral.

Recording later took place in Wales, before Altsach and the band completed the project in London. A title and release date have not yet been announced.

The tour opens at Leeds’ Brudenell Social Club on 24 October, then visits Sidney & Matilda in Sheffield on 25 October, The Joiners in Southampton on 26 October and Patterns in Brighton on 27 October.

Dates continue at Rough Trade Nottingham on 31 October, Birmingham’s Castle & Falcon on 1 November, Band on the Wall in Manchester on 3 November, Glasgow’s Room 2 on 4 November and The Glasshouse in Gateshead on 6 November. UGLY will then play Bristol’s Simple Things Festival on 7 November and Clwb Ifor Bach in Cardiff on 8 November, closing the run at Norwich Arts Centre on 10 November.
